This is a site which shows the evolution of team names in Formula 1. It has the current teams and any team which won a drivers championship (which you can see with a 🏎️ icon) or a constructor championship (which you can see with a 🏆 icon).
This was built in a morning using Deno 🦕, Fresh 🍋, and Deploy. You can read about how it was built here.
Interesting nuggets I found while building this
- There are two different Mercedes, the current one which traces its roots to Matra in 1968 but the original Mercedes was in 1954 and 1955. Same name but different lineage so they are seperated here.
- There was no constructor championship until 1958; the first was won by Vanwall.
- There is 3 different lineages who used the name Lotus, and in 2011 there were two teams called Lotus at the same time.
- Currently the only lineage to pause is the original Alfa Romeo which raced in 1950 and 1951, but then paused until 1979.
